[edit]Coined from öz (“gist”) during the language reform as a native word to replace icmal (Arabic إِجْمَال (ʔijmāl)), fezleke (فَذْلَكَة (faḏlaka)), hülasa (خُلَاصَة (ḵulāṣa)), and zübde (زُبْدَة (zubda)).
