[edit]Etymology
[edit]Given the uncanny resemblance of the Vietnamese Protestant title of Exodus, Xuất Ê-díp-tô Ký, to its Japanese counterpart, perhaps from Japanese エジプト (Ejiputo), from English Egypt. Most proper names in the Vietnamese Protestant translation of the Bible were derived from French, however, French Égypte seems implausible here given the final <ô>.
