wheelchairbound

From Wiktionary, the free dictionary

English

[edit]

Etymology

[edit]

From wheelchair +‎ bound.

Adjective

[edit]

wheelchairbound (not comparable)

  1. Confined to a wheelchair.

Usage notes

[edit]

Many people advise against describing somebody as being wheelchairbound and instead suggest describing that person as being a wheelchair user. It has also been suggested that the terms mean two different things, since a wheelchair user might not be "confined" to a wheelchair.
