Etymology
[edit]From earlier vulé, from Vulgar Latin voleō, volēre, 2nd-conjugation regularized form of Classical Latin volō, from Proto-Italic *welō, Proto-Indo-European *welh₁-e-ti, derived from the root *welh₁- (“to choose, to want”).
