Inherited from Proto-Slavic *olni, from Proto-Indo-European *ol-nei. Cognate with Slovene láni, Czech loni, vloni, Serbo-Croatian lȃni/ла̑ни, Russian лони́ (loní), and Latin ōlim (once).
