  2. (transitive) to attack suddenly, to strike, to fall upon
  3. (intransitive, of weather phenomena) to start severely blowing, pouring, etc.
  4. (reflexive) to hurt oneself, to get hurt
  5. (intransitive) to set off, to strike out in some direction, to hit the road
  6. (catenative, with following infinitive or imperative) to throw oneself into, to start doing with all one’s might
  7. (transitive) to throw on, to put on (clothing)

  *Note: The aorist and imperfect were not present in, or have nowadays fallen into disuse in, many dialects and therefore they are routinely replaced by the past perfect in both formal and colloquial speech.
