Galician

Etymology

[edit]

Attested in local Medieval Latin documents as traucire (to lead; to cross).[1] Probably from Latin trādūcō (I lead across) or alternatively from a descendant of Proto-Germanic *þrukkijaną (to press on), but both etymologies are objectionable.[2]
