[edit]From or related to stiç; compare Venetan stiçar, stisar. Perhaps linked to a Vulgar Latin *attitiō, attitiāre, from Latin titiō, and influenced by stiç, or from a variant root *extitiāre. Cf. also Italian attizzare.
