Finnish
[edit]Etymology
[edit]sormen (“finger's”) + pää (“tip”)
Pronunciation
[edit]Noun
[edit]sormenpää
- A fingertip.
Usage notes
[edit]- hyppynen, näppi and sormenpää are mostly interchangeable (e.g. in: to have something "at one's fingertips') except in the case one speaks concretely of the fingertip itself (e.g. in: to have a wound in one's fingertip), in which case only sormenpää is applicable.
