[edit]Noun
[edit]sausager (plural sausagers)
- A pig or other animal raised to produce meat for sausages.
- 1888, American Agriculturist, volume 47, page 375:
- This cow should be retained as long as she profitably pays her keep, then sold as a "sausager" for what she will bring; for we hold that no man ever fattened an old dairy cow to a profit.
- 2007, Agrekon, volumes 46-47, page 216:
- Pigs destined for the processed products market usually have a carcase mass of 65 kg and higher (usually larger baconers, heavy baconers and sausagers).
