1. (mineralogy) A trigonal-ditrigonal pyramidal mineral containing hydrogen, iron, magnesium, oxygen, and phosphorus.

     Satterlyite is a rare hydroxyl-bearing ferrous phosphate with the originally proposed simplified formula (Fe²⁺,Mg)₂(PO₄)OH.

     In the optical spectrum of satterlyite, eight bands are observed and all are attributed to different transitions arising from ferric and ferrous ions.
