[edit]Inherited from Ottoman Turkish رفاقت (refāḳat, “an accompanying another on a journey, companionship”),[1][2] from Arabic رَفَاقَة (rafāqa), verbal noun of رَفُقَ (rafuqa, “to be a companion”).[3]
