[edit]Possibly from Proto-Turkic *kad-, whence also Azerbaijani qayğı; however, the intervocalic /d/ instead of expected /j/ is not quite clear.
Alternatively, from Common Turkic *kada- (“to thrust into, to plunge into”).
Compare dialectal Turkish gada.
