[edit]From pisci (“fish”) + -uni, literally “big fish”, because of its form. The formation “fish of the leg” can also be found in Lucania,[1] Sardinian pische de sa camba and Moroccan Arabic حوتة الرجل (ḥūtat er-rjal).
