  1. (transitive) to sprinkle, scatter, strew (de with)
  2. (transitive) to be scattered or strewn over
    Je regardais les astres qui parsemaient le ciel. I was watching the stars which were scattered across the sky.

Conjugation

This verb is conjugated like parler, except the -e- /ə/ of the second-to-last syllable becomes -è- /ɛ/ when the next vowel is a silent or schwa -e-, as in the third-person singular present indicative il parsème and the third-person singular future indicative il parsèmera.
