Etymology
[edit]From pang- + kinain, from kain + -in-. Sense “web browser” is a semantic loan from English browser (“person or animal who browses; web browser”) where English browse in this case referred to its older meaning “to feed on, as pasture; to pasture on; to graze; to move about while eating parts of plants” and not the more common meaning today “to scan, to casually look through”.
