[edit]From Philippine Spanish paliquero (“flirter”), from Spanish palique (“chitchat”) + -ero. By surface analysis, paliki + -ero. Alternatively, from pa- + liki (“spin, like of a dog's tail”) + -ero, according to the Commission on the Filipino Language.
