[edit]From Proto-Germanic *uzlugi-, from Proto-Germanic *uz- (“out”) + *lugi-, a derivative of *leuganą (“to lie, tell a lie”). Akin to Old Frisian orloch, Old Saxon urlogi, Old High German urluogi, urliugi (“war”), Dutch oorlog (“war”), Old English lēogan (“to lie”).
