Literally, format of words’ books. Created from orðabókar (dictionary, genitive plural of orðabók) +‎ form (format).

orðabókarform n (genitive singular orðabókarforms, nominative plural orðabókarform)

  1. dictionary form; a format which is similar to that which would be used in a dictionary (i.e. a list with definitions and lexemes, often in alphabetical order).
    Ég er ekki alveg viss hvers vegna matseðill veitingastaðarins er í orðabókarformi, en ég er heldur ekki alveg á móti því.
    I’m not entirely sure why the restaurant’s menu is in dictionary format, but I’m also not completely opposed to it.
