- (transitive) to put back, to replace
- Kiedy skończysz czytać książkę, odstaw ją na półkę. ― When you finish reading the book, put it back in on the shelf.
- (transitive) to cease taking, to kick (e.g. a drug)
- Musiałem odstawić ten lek ze względu na duszności i wymioty. ― I had to cease taking this drug due to short breath and vomiting.
- (transitive) to cut out, to lay off (to stop eating or drinking some foodstuff)
- Odstawiłem alkohol i słodycze, ale poprawa jest niewielka. ― I cut out alcohol and sweets, but the improvement is minor.
- (transitive, colloquial) to give a lift, to chaperone, to escort
- (intransitive, colloquial, derogatory) to make a fuss, to make a scene
