Etymology

From *ndërr, from Proto-Albanian *anteros, from Proto-Indo-European *an-2 (there, on the other side). Cognate to Old Prussian antars, anters (other, second), Lithuanian añtras and Old High German andar (other). Alternatively, from Latin alterō with irregular change of the sonorant. [1]
