[edit]- Refers to any train that rides during the night, which may or may not be sleeper trains. Many nachttreinen that ride only on domestic routes are not sleeper trains at all and lack sleeping facilities; on the other hand, in the context of international rail travel the term nachttrein generally refers to sleeper trains. (The term slaaptrein unambiguously refers to sleeper trains.)
