    Inherited from Prakrit 𑀡𑀲𑁆𑀲𑀇 (ṇassaï), from Sanskrit नश्य॑ति (náśyati), from Proto-Indo-Iranian *náćyati, from Proto-Indo-European *neḱ- + *-yeti.[1][2]
