[edit]Inherited from Ottoman Turkish موازنه (muvâzene, “a balancing one another, equipoise, equilibrium, balance”),[1][2] from Arabic مُوَازَنَة (muwāzana), verbal noun of وَزَنَ (wazana, “to weigh”).[3]
