Swedish
[edit]Etymology
[edit]From Old Swedish. Probably same root as mulen. According to SAOB, probably related to Danish mulm (“darkness”), Proto-Germanic *melhmô and Norwegian Nynorsk mol (“small clouds”) (used in parts of Trøndelag on the Swedish border, although Ivar Aasen doubt clarity of its etymology). Also compare Danish mul (“rain cloud”).
