[edit]Etymology
[edit]The etymology remains unknown. Nişanyan disregards any relation with the placename Menemen and proposes that it's ultimately derived from or related to Ancient Greek μάλαγμα (málagma).[1] Greek μενεμέν (menemén) is a borrowing from Turkish.
