[edit]From Sanskrit मागध (māgadha, “male of mixed caste, with Kṣatriya-mother and a Vaiśya-father”).

[edit]megat (Jawi spelling مݢت, plural megat-megat, informal 1st possessive megatku, 2nd possessive megatmu, 3rd possessive megatnya)
- title given to noble people, of royal descent on the mother's side but unable from the inferior position of their fathers to take the higher title of Raja or Tengku.
