Borrowed from Spanish lírica, feminine of lírico, from Latin lyricus, from Ancient Greek λυρικός (lurikós). Sense meaning "words to a song" is a semantic loan from English lyrics. Correct Spanish term would be letras de canciones. Doublet of liriks.
