lacrimal fluid (countable and uncountable, plural lacrimal fluids)

  1. Fluid secreted by the lacrimal glands to lubricate the eye and fight bacteria. It consists of water, mucin, lipids, lysozyme, lactoferrin, lipocalin, lacritin, immunoglobulins, glucose, urea, sodium, and potassium.
