kypsä
Appearance
Finnish
[edit]Etymology
[edit]From Proto-Finnic *küpci, likely borrowed from Baltic (see Proto-Finnic entry for more).
The inflection type has been analogically remodelled; earlier inflection kypsi (genitive kypsen, partitive kystä) still survives in some dialects, usually as a noun. In others, the partitive kystä has become detached from the paradigm and has become a new, independent adjective.
