Etymology

If not borrowed from Proto-Slavic *krěslo or its later forms (such as Old East Slavic кресло (kreslo) or Polish krzesło),[1] then inherited from Proto-Balto-Slavic *kréʔslа.[2] Cognate with Latvian krēsls (chair),[2] Old Prussian creslan.[2] More at krēsls.
