[edit]Affixed ko- + operasi, from earlier kooperasi, from Dutch coöperatie, from Middle French cooperation, from Late Latin cooperātiō. Doublet of kooperasi.
- The word was used for translation of Japanese 組合 (kumiai, “an association, a union”) during the Japanese occupation.
