[edit]From an older chimneysweep slang word knopare (“chimneysweep”) + moj, from Tavringer Romani muj, måj, möj, måjj (“mouth”), from Romani mui (“mouth”), compare English mooey (“mouth, face”). Related to Sanskrit मुख (mukha, “mouth, face”).
