[edit]From Proto-Mon-Khmer *kmət ~ *k(p)mat (“gall”); cognate with Bahnar kơmăt (“gall bladder”), Riang kᵊmət (“bile, gall”), Vietnamese mật (“bile, gall bladder”), Mon ပၟတ် (kəmot) and Khmer ប្រមាត់ (prɑmŏət).
