Etymology

Inherited from Ottoman Turkish قارنداشجه[1] or قرنداشجه (ḳarındaşca, ḳardaşca)[2] from قارنداش or قرنداش (ḳarındaş, ḳardaş),[3] equivalent to kardeş (sibling) +‎ -çe. Cognates with Azerbaijani qardaşcasına, Tatar кардәшчә (qardäşçä), Uyghur قېرىنداشلارچە (qërindashlarche), Uzbek qardoshlarcha.
