kangren
Appearance
Turkish
[edit]Etymology
[edit]From Ottoman Turkish غانغرن (gangren), from French gangrène, from Latin gangraena, from Ancient Greek γάγγραινᾰ (gángraina). Spelling change from earlier "gangren" is explainable by the general thought of false analogy with kan (blood), as the gangrene is caused by critically insufficient blood supply in a certain body part.
