[edit]Inherited from Ottoman Turkish قاش ایله گوز اراسنده (ḳaş ile göz arasında, “between the eyebrow and the eye, instantaneously”),[1] equivalent to compound of kaş (“eyebrow”) + -la (with) + göz (“eye”) + ara (“place or space between two things, interval”) + -(s)ı (possessive suffix with "s" as buffer consonant) + -(n)da (locative suffix with "n" as buffer consonant), literally “between the eyebrow and the eye”. Cognate with Kazakh қас пен көздің арасында (qas pen közdıñ arasynda, “in a very short time”).
