[edit]Inherited from Ashokan Prakrit *𑀓𑁄𑀮 (*kola), perhaps from Sanskrit कौल (kaula, “worshipper of Śakti according to left-hand ritual”), खोल (khola, “lame”), कोर (kora, “movable joint”). Cognate with Shina [script needed] (kōlu, “crooked”), Dameli [script needed] (kōla, “crooked”).
