Etymology

Inherited from Ottoman Turkish اینجلمك (incelmek),[1][2] from اینجه (ince),[3] equivalent to ince (thin) +‎ -l (verb-forming suffix) +‎ -mak. Cognates with Azerbaijani incəlmək, Turkmen inçelmek, Uzbek ingichkalashmoq.
