[edit]Inherited from Ottoman Turkish كوكج (güvec, güğec),[1][2] either from Proto-Turkic *küdeč,[3] derived from *küd- (“to wait”) + *-geč[4][5] or from Proto-Turkic *kübeč (frying pan, earthenware pot).[6]
