[edit]Inherited from Ottoman Turkish گوملك (gömlek),[1][2][3] from Proto-Turkic *köyŋelek,[4][5] from Proto-Turkic *köŋül (“the heart, chest; the mind”).[6] Cognate with Karakhanid کُنکْلَکْ (köŋlek), Azerbaijani köynək, Uyghur كۆينەك (köynek). Doublet of köynek (provincial).
