Inherited from Old Spanish [Term?], from Andalusian Arabic قَالِب (qálib), from Arabic قَالَب (qālab), قَالِب (qālib, form, mold), from Ancient Greek κᾱλοπόδιον (kālopódion, shoemaker's last). Doublet of calibre.
