fremmedord n (singular definite fremmedordet, plural indefinite fremmedord)

  1. a loanword that has not been assimilated (orthographically, phonologically, inflectionally etc.), and is hence perceived as foreign
  2. (by extension) a word denoting a concept claimed to be alien to someone
