Usage notes
[edit]As an independent word, farmari usually refers to a New World farmer. The terms used of other farmers include maanviljelijä, viljelijä, talonpoika, maajussi. As part of compound words, farmari is often used universally to refer to specialized farmers, e.g. sikafarmari (“a pig farmer”).
