[edit]Inherited as a mixture of Late Latin exfrōns (“barefaced, shameless”), īnfrontātus (“without shame”) - based on frōns (“forehead; countenance; shame”). Compare Medieval Latin īnfrū̆nītus, īnfronītus, effronītus (“shameless, senseless, silly, impetuous”), effronter (“shamelessly”).
