[edit]Inherited from Ottoman Turkish اپیی (epey, epeyi),[1] deteriorated from اپ ایو (ep eyü, eyi)[2][3] or اپ ایی (ep eyi, iyi), intensive of ایو (eyü, iyi).[4] Ultimately from Proto-Turkic *epedgü.
