  1. the student in a school class whom the teacher considered to be the most talented. Sat at the front of the class.
    Synonym: fuks
    1. student in a class who, for a period of time, has practical tasks in connection with teaching, e.g. tidying up and wiping the blackboard clean.
    2. (sports) athlete or sports team currently in first place in a tournament, group, etc.
    3. (figuratively) someone or something that is particularly outstanding and better than its competitors in a particular area.
