1. (Australia, historical) A fee charged on a small proportion of the dry weight of certain types of goods being shipped.
   • 1949, Australia. Bureau of Mineral Resources, Geology and Geophysics, The Australian Mineral Industry: Economic Notes and Statistics, page 82:

     Payment for ores and concentrates, etc. — A deduction of 1 per cent. is made from the net dry weight of all fine materials as draftage.
