From Proto-Albanian *dāsrā, from pre-Albanian *ǵʰēsreh₂, from Proto-Indo-European *ǵʰes- (compare Greek χέρι (chéri), Armenian ձեռք (jeṙkʻ), Tocharian A tsar), ultimately from *ǵʰes-.
