Usage notes
[edit]Used primarily in the expressions m’anam don diucs! (“bless my soul!”, literally “my soul to the deuce!”)[2] and d’anam don diucs! (“what the deuce!”, literally “your soul to the deuce!”).[3] The latter is also found as th'anam don diucs in Munster Irish, and sometimes written phonetically as hanaman diucs.[4]
